Every year, roughly 2 million young people across the United States

find themselves running away from home,

facing a multitude of potential consequences such as

school truancy, declining academic performance,

exposure to sexual or physical abuse,

family crises like illness or substance abuse,

divorce, unplanned pregnancies, and

breakdowns in family communication.

Tragically, an estimated

5,000 of these runaway and homeless youth

succumb to violence, illness, or despair.
